No News Is.....
Good news... LOL WOW I cannot believe I haven't blogged in almost 3 months! It has been crazy busy here, but in a good way. Layna has been in day treatment, and after a really rocky start ( police involvement, her being detained THAT ROCKY ) She has done some HUGE and I mean HUGE healing. She finally for the 1st time in 6 years accepts responsibility for her actions, and is being kind, and for sure being attached. She is cuddly and loving, and helpful. She will continue til the end of this month , full day, then in July move to half day which will continue into the 1st month of her returning back into regular school. Her school has been awesome with setting up her return for next year, and we have high hopes for her.
Bradley got his 1st birthday party invitation. His therapist used to asked what I wanted to see in his future and I would say " Normal things for kids, like being invited to a birthday party." So it was a big deal here, with a lot of joy and even some tears from me. He has turned into such a sweet little boy. I just adore him and cannot imagine life without his little face. We are a long way from 3 years ago when we were told by a therapist that he will probably be a psychopath and to just give up :( I thank Heavenly Father everyday that we didn't listen, and continued to fight for him.
Corey had his 1st hospital visit. He broke both bones in his arm right above his wrist rollerblading. He has all his gear except his wrist guards :/ It was horribly traumatic for him to go though it being on the autism spectrum, and really hard on me. Thankfully Dad was there because they made me go into the consult room, since I was so upset. But in the end he got a super cool camo colored cast, that is totally waterproof! You can even swim with it. And he actually gets it off this afternoon. Big excitement here for him with that today.
After a trip to the children's hospital on Mothers Day with Emily and her seizures, we think we found the reason. The big fancy head of such and such Dr there asked to pull hers, and Paiges records from the neuro we see there. And after answering a million questions he asked us to try something..... Well we did, and have been seizure and blood sugar drop free for weeks.....Drum roll please......... Gluten Intolerance!! Seriously! And the one time they have both had it accidentally we had really bad results. So we are now a gluten free home. Yes it is a ton of work, yes it is worth it all :)
Bryleigh is a crazy busy kid now. On top of church stuff, she also joined Jobs Daughters. It is part of the free masons. My little sister is a part of it, and so Bryleigh became interested. Such a great group of girls, and she is making some really good friends. She is also training for a triathlon in Sept. And she passed 4th grade with straight A's. I have never known anyone so resilient and fight so hard to put their past behind them to insure a bright future. She talks a lot about her birth mom, and how frustrated she is with her, and how she blamed herself for a long time for her abandoning her. That broke my heart. We reassure her all the time that her birth Moms issues have nothing to do with her, or Bradley, or the 4 other siblings she has that are spread all over :/ She also talks a lot about how happy she is that she is here and gets a chance to live a great life. I love that girl, and have learned so much from her...
Well we have done a ton of fun stuff over these 3 months including Festival of Colors and awesome May Day celebration with our homeschool group. I will post those pictures this week!
Finding a ton of joy in our journey, and praying you are also <3 nbsp="" p="">
